In Fort Worth ISD, only 31% of students can read at grade level. That’s not just a statistic, it’s a call to action.
Now, Fort Worth is taking a step in the right direction. In partnership with the Sid W. Richardson Foundation and the Go Beyond Grades campaign, the city is launching universal dyslexia screening for all K–2 students. The initiative, called Literacy Roundup, will be available this summer at day camp locations across the city.
This move gives families essential insight into their child’s reading development. When parents have the facts, kids have a better shot at catching up and staying on track.
